Digital scoring for Irish golf clubs

Privacy Policy

Last updated: 18 September 2026

This page explains what personal data iScore collects when you use the app to enter scores, submit digital scorecards and work out your course handicap — and what we do and don't do with it.

01Who we are

iScore Limited (“iScore,” “we,” “us”) provides a mobile app that lets golf club members enter scores, submit digital scorecards, record their handicap index, and view live competition leaderboards.

Contact: info@iscore.ie. Our registered company address is at the bottom of this page.

02What data we collect

CategoryExamplesWhy
Account details Name, email, Golf Ireland CDH number, home club To create your account and identify you within your club
Round & score data Hole-by-hole scores, Stableford points, putts, fairways hit, greens in regulation To record your rounds and work out your course handicap for competitions and social rounds
Handicap data Your self-reported handicap index, and the course handicap we calculate from it iScore is not yet accredited by Golf Ireland, so we don't track or update an official handicap for you — you tell us your handicap index and we use it to work out your course handicap for each round
Digital signatures Your signature and your marker's signature on a submitted round To verify and validate competition scores before they're recorded in your round history
Competition / leaderboard data Live scores visible to other participants in the same competition To show live standings during a round

We do not collect more than we need to run the service. We do not sell your data.

03Why we process your data

We process your data because it's necessary to provide the service you signed up for — performing our contract with you.

04Who we share it with

  • Your golf club — for competition administration and dispute resolution.
  • Your marker — sees your scores during the verification and signing step of a round, as is normal for golf scoring.
  • Other competition entrants — if you enter a club competition, your name and live score are shown on that competition's leaderboard to other entrants in the same competition, the same way a paper leaderboard would be at the clubhouse. This does not apply to social or casual rounds — those scores are visible only to your selected playing partner(s) and marker, not the wider club.
  • Golf Ireland — iScore is not yet accredited by Golf Ireland, so no scores are submitted to Golf Ireland today. Once accreditation is confirmed, verified competition scores will be submitted to Golf Ireland's official handicap system so your handicap index can update automatically.
  • Supabase (our hosting/database provider, EU-based) — processes data on our behalf under a signed data processing agreement. Your data is hosted within the EU.

We do not share your data with advertisers or unrelated third parties.

05Who can use iScore

iScore is currently available to golf club members aged 18 and over.

06How long we keep your data

While your account is active:

  • Signed round data: retained for 2 years after the end of the competition season in which the round was played, in case of a handicap dispute.
  • Live leaderboard data: removed from the live leaderboard view within 24 hours of the competition closing; the underlying scores remain in your round history for the period set out above.

If you delete your account:

Deleting your account from within the app is immediate, permanent and complete. Your profile, round history, handicap data, digital signatures and competition entries are erased outright at that moment — this cannot be undone, and none of it is held back for the retention periods above. (Data belonging to other golfers — for example, a round you marked for someone else — is not affected; only your own account and your own data are removed.) See our Delete My Account page for exactly how to do this.

07Your rights

Under GDPR, you have the right to:

  • Access the personal data we hold about you
  • Correct inaccurate data
  • Request deletion of your data — see Delete My Account for how this works
  • Object to or restrict certain processing
  • Receive a copy of your data (data portability) — get the personal data you've provided to us in a structured, commonly used, machine-readable format, and have it transmitted to another service where technically feasible
  • Lodge a complaint with the Data Protection Commission if you believe we've mishandled your data

To exercise any of these rights, contact us at info@iscore.ie. We'll respond within one month — if your request is complex, we may extend this by a further two months, and we'll tell you if that applies.

08Where your data is stored

Your data is hosted in the EU. We do not transfer your personal data outside the EU/EEA. We only work with processors who have a signed data processing agreement with us covering EU data handling.

09Changes to this policy

We'll update this policy as iScore adds features (e.g. GPS course maps) or changes how we process data, and we'll notify you of material changes within the app.
